VoiceOver

VoiceOver is a gesture-based screen reader that lets users operate an iOS device even when they can’t see the screen. VoiceOver is essential for users with low or no vision, but it’s also useful for people who need to interact with an app while looking at something else. You can even black out the screen and listen to VoiceOver through earphones if you’re in a dark conference room or theater, or if you just don’t want people around you to see what’s on your screen.

You turn VoiceOver on or off in a device’s Settings app from the Accessibility tab. Once VoiceOver is on, it responds to the standard gestures by speaking the name of the item the user’s finger is on, so you must use a different set of gestures to navigate and perform actions.
